Methi Thepla
Ingredients:
- 500 grams flour.
- Pinch of asafoetida.
- 1 tsp. turmeric powder.
- 25 grams each of bajra and gram flour.
- 4 green chillies.
- 1 bunch fenugreek leaves cleaned and sliced.
- A pinch soda.
- 2 tblsps. oil.
- Salt and chilli powder to suit the taste.
Method:
Mix together all the above ingredients then add-enough water to form quite a stiff dough. Divide, wash and soak dal in water whole night.
Next morning, drain out the water and tie in a cloth and hang from a nail in the wall for 24 hours at the end of which you will see that the dal has developed sprouts. Boil the dal in water till soft and dry, then mix in the rest of the above ingredients and remove from fire. Mix flour with salt and then add enough water to form a stiff dough.
Now prepare and fry the rotlas in the same way as shown in the recipe entitled Moong and Potato Rotla.
