Chocolate Chip Cookies with a twist; This one spruces up the humble Chocolate Chip Cookies with Coconut and Almonds.
Coconut Almond Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 cup shortening 1 cup brown sugar, lightly packed 1/2 cup sugar 2 eggs 2 tablespoons milk 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 cups flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 6 ounces of chocolate chips or 6 squares of semi-sweet chocolate, chopped 1 cup coconut 1 cup chopped almonds
Cream shortening, the two sugars, eggs, milk and vanilla together until light and fluffy. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt. Mix well. Add chopped chocolate or chocolate chips, coconut and almonds. Drop mxiture by tablespoonfuls onto a greased baking sheet. Bake at 350ºF (180ºC) for 8 to 12 minutes or until golden.
Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
