Video: How to make Egg Fried Rice

It’s raining out here in Bangalore like no other and the weather is perfect to taste something hot. Well I have been scouring the Video sites for new recipes and I landed on this recipe for Egg Fried Rice. It’s pretty common here in India, to find Egg fried Rice, but the one in the video is nowhere near Indian.

Nevertheless, it’s different and looks so tempting. The videos from Videojug.com have been very professional – you are taken through a step-by-step preparation of a dish; in most cases a printed recipe accompanies the video. Many video websites can’t afford to do that, but it is nice to see a differently laid-out website. This recipe is made to look colorful by its use of carrots, onions and long-grained rice, which I think is Basmati rice.

Also, as you can expect (this not being an Indian dish), there is very little spiciness to it except for the use of pepper. Well you could add a touch of your own by adding some chilli powder for extra taste. I’ve tasted plain fried rice like this and I love it even though it might be bland for an Indian tongue. Vegetarians can always do without the eggs and go with a few more vegetables such as a couple of chopped chillies, boiled cauliflowers and maybe tomato sauce to go with that.

If you’d like to try some of the fried rice recipes, go check out a small collection in the main website.

Here’s the video (It’s about 3 minutes long – If you have a slow internet connection, it’s better to pause the video for some time and then watch it)
