Raw mango drink to cool this summer

Summer’s heating up here in India and everybody’s heading to all things cool. Raw (Unripe) mangoes are mostly used for preparing pickles or in some cases eaten with a dash of salt and pepper.

This raw mango drink will be spicy & tangy and makes for a good thirst quencher on a hot evening.

Raw Mango Drink

Ingredients

  • Raw mangoes: 3
  • Ginger: a small flake
  • Roasted jeera powder: 1 tbsp
  • Black pepper: 1 tsp
  • Black salt: to taste
  • Sugar: 1 cup
  • Fresh mint leaves: 1 teacup

How to make / Method:

  1. Boil the mangoes, mint leaves and ginger.
  2. Cool and remove the pulp. Pass it through a sieve and take out the thick juice.
  3. Add sugar to the above juice. Add water to dilute it.
  4. Mix well until the sugar dissolves. Strain the juice.
  5. Add the roasted jeera powder, black salt and pepper.
  6. Mix well. Chill the juice before serving.
